Don’t let the title fool you…I’m sooo excited to have this sweet mama bird hanging out on our porch!  My mom spotted her the other week, and you know how she loves taking pictures so she had her camera in hand in minutes! I’m glad she did so I can share these pictures with you.  Each day as we headed up to the studio we would steal a glance out the patio door to catch a quick peek at this mama bird.  We waited and we watched, and finally, we discovered these…

Oh, my goodness, if only you could have heard my mom squeal with delight!!  Again, we watched and we waited til we finally spotted Mama Bird sitting up a bit higher, nesting.  Yep, the babies had arrived!  Of course, my mom got pictures of the cuties, but I’m saving those for another day.  They are so cute…you’re gonna love ’em!  But, we did have a sad day when we actually watched them fly from the nest…yep, they flew the coup!  But….drumroll, please…can you believe that the flower pot was only empty for one week and now a new mama bird has moved in!! Yes, we’re having more babies!  She just laid the eggs last night.  And, yes, of course, my mom just happened to be out there right as this happened!! She was actually trying to spray a huge wasp nest…her timing might not have been so perfect to Mama Bird2!  Now, if only I can keep my mom away from that porch…she gets rather inquisitive about those babies and wants to take pictures.  I keep telling her they need their privacy.  Grrr…that woman keeps me on my toes, I tell ya!! Stay tuned for more birdie pictures!!  🙂

One more thing I just gotta share though…our pumpkin vine ~

Do you remember these cute pumpkins we decorated the front porch with??  Well, someone moved a couple of the large ones to the side of the house to hold up the snowman at Christmas.  I know, crazy right?!! Don’t ask…I told “someone” that she better remember to trash the pumpkin later.  She didn’t…

In the first picture you can see the remains of the rotten pumpkin.  I have to admit it was pretty neat to discover this. The green vine is growing from right inside where all the seeds are.  I just love watching it grow; it’s getting really big now!  Guess I’m gonna have my very own pumpkin to carve this year!  ~ right out of my garden!  Wow!! ~ I may really like gardening if this is all there is to it! Now, our tomato plants…well, that’s another story!
