Think Positive

I have the sweetest mother, and yes, sometimes I call her mama, too!  She has the most positive attitude and outlook on life, and she has blessed me more times than I can count with her sweet thoughts, encouraging words, supportive comments, and unconditional love.  She knows how much I love getting a little “snail mail” and will often send a little surprise my way.  Sometimes it’s a card she’s had for weeks that she saved for just the right time, a local newspaper clipping, or a page of inspiration that she wanted to share with me.  Why??…well, because she knows me…she knows me really good, I tell ya!!  And, she knows that I’ll “get it”…that I’ll reread the card or clipping more than once, maybe on a day when I need it most…and, she knows it will probably find a spot on one of my inspiration boards.  🙂  If you’ve been following my blog for awhile then, you know I LOVE inspiration boards.  There are all sorts of inspiration boards, and maybe I’ll do a post about this one day…but, for now, I’m referring to those boards where you pin up favorite photos of special memories, bits of paper of phrases that you love, colorful swatches of fabric or paper, decorating ideas, cards from sweet friends…and, a special mom, and so much more.  One day an envelope arrived in my mailbox filled with the best clippings…positive thoughts and amazing quotes…those kind that just “hit the spot” at just the right time.  And, today I want to share some of this inspiration with you! 🙂

I do love Norman Vincent Peale…and, my sweet mother does, too!  Here’s a little piece from him that I hope will help you to think positive on those days when you need it most…

Think Positive

If you want to get somewhere, you have to know where you want to go and how to get there.  Then never, never, never give up.

The secret of life isn’t in what happens to you, but what you do with what happens to you.

Help other people to cope with their problems and your own will be easier to cope with.

Never use the word impossible seriously again.  Toss it into the verbal wastebasket.

Self-trust is the first secret of success.  So believe in and trust yourself.

Stand up to your obstacles and do something about them.  You will find that they haven’t half the strength you think they have.

Joy increases as you give it and diminishes as you try to keep it for yourself.  In giving it, you will accumulate a deposit of joy greater than you ever believed possible.

How you think about a problem is more important than the problem itself ~ so always THINK POSITIVELY.

Go at life with abandon; give it all you’ve got.  And, life will give all it has to you.

{{From Positive Thinking Everyday, by Norman Vincent Peale}}

Sometimes LIFE does feel like a big, lonely ocean…and, when it does, I hope maybe you will stop by your inspiration board and reread this note…and, I hope you will feel a sense of JOY that’s worth sharing!

Hugs, my sweet friends!!!
