It’s time for a little more fun with the Summer of Color 2: Ice Cream Inspiration event!  This week our color prompt was Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream!!  I have to be honest, I’m not a big fan of anything mint, but I’ll happily take the chocolate chips!!  However, when it comes to incorporating this color scheme into a little artwork…well, that’s another {fun} story!!

It’s always fun to visit Design Seeds for a little inspiration, and I didn’t have to go far since it is delivered to my inbox.  The above color palette arrived last week in my email, and I thought it was a perfect addition to the ideas that were already swirling around in my head for this week’s art.

Yes, there is a bit of color difference in some of these photos…it just so happened I was working on this at night and decided to try to take a few pictures to share with you…not the best lighting!  But, I kinda like how they turned out…some show the mint green color a bit more vividly so I’m including some photo variations for you.

I think this canvas would be so cute in a child’s room or a beach cottage!  And, it is the perfect reminder to always be sweet to those we meet!! We are all different in our own unique and special ways…we all have our own battles we are facing in life, and, we all see things through our own vision.  But all these things…all these differences…this is what makes life interesting.  We have to be sure to accept these things…accept each others’ differences so we don’t miss out on the chance to give or receive a smile that might just make the most important difference in our day or someone else’s.

These cute guys will be heading to the shoppe soon!  I sketched these cute turtles in one of my sketchbooks several months ago…yes, probably after watching all the turtles sunning in our backyard!  I happened to think about them and thought they would be just perfect for this fun color prompt!  Hope they make you SMILE today, and remember just how SWEET it is when we are kind to someone that comes into our path!

“Sunset Sunday” will post later this evening so be sure to stop by again!  🙂  We’re getting lots of rain in Florida today so I think I may just finally tackle “closet organization project”!  Ah, someone still has suitcases out from a trip to Alexandria the other week!  Not saying who, but I think it’s time they are put away.  My incentive…get the closet done, and my treat can be to work on next week’s color prompt.  It looks yummy!!
