Well, what can be better than a gathering place that is filled with color, creativity, and artistic souls? Not much!! And, that’s just what I’ve had the opportunity to enjoy in the Art of Wild Abandonment Class! Many of us are participating in a bloghop to share some of the artwork we’ve been inspired to create from the class. You’ve probably hopped here from Jodiann Cates’ blog, but just in case you are just arriving to the party, be sure to take a peek at the details at the end of the post for more info.
Junelle Jacobson and Christy Tomlinson created this class, and Junelle was our art instructor. She has the cutest personality, and her videos were tons of fun!
You know how much I love sketching so when I read about this online class I was so excited! I found Junelle’s blog, Yes and Amen, through Christy’s blog and felt as though I already knew her because of how she shares her heart on her blog. I fell in love with her sketches while visiting her blog one night and definitely fell in love with her sweet lambs!! I’ve been hinting to John about a pet for Tucker and me ever since! 🙂 Cupcakes were on the agenda so I loved creating yummy frosting and colorful treats while working on homework assignments. Not bad for homework, eh?!!
And, when I’m sketching I usually end up putting a beachy spin on it!! I have always loved a cute clothesline…just something about the clothes swaying in the breeze. I think it reminds me of days long ago and how women probably did a little soul searching, praying, and dreaming while clipping laundry to that line. I’m thinking of the perfect phrase to go along with this one so it can head to the shoppe soon!
One of the most fun parts of an art class is playing with the supplies!! I think I’ve already confessed that I’m an ART junkie so it’s always fun for me to try new techniques and colors with my stash of goodies!
The JOY of a class such as this just keeps on going since we have access to the classroom for a year, and we have a fabulous ‘n fun Facebook group. We’re having such fun getting to know each other, share our works of art, and offer encouragement as we work on art challenges. The above sketch is a work in progress {WIP}…yep, that’s me…an artsy chick with a love for birds, cappy coolers, colorful supplies, and a soul that loves creating! And, of course, this artsy chick always has someone by her side so there’s a spot waiting for my lil helper, Tucker {my Westie ~don’t forget he blogs on Tuesdays, “Tuesdays with Tucker”…well, that is if he doesn’t over do it on the naps!}!! I’ll be adding lots of color to this sketch soon so be sure to stop by again to see how she turns out!
The day wouldn’t be complete for me without one {or, two!} of my cappy coolers {cappuccino cooler} while I’m painting away in the studio!! Of course, I’ll be sippin’ it from one of my artsy mugs that I just love! And, as you can see, sketches can be found allover my studio! It’s filled with lots of works in progress, notebooks full of ideas, and “just finished” pieces that are heading to the shoppe soon.
**Let’s keep this party going! ~ Now it’s time for you to hop on over to see what Linda Barutha of Live, Laugh, Love Retreats has been up to!**
