Feathered {Friends} Friday ~ Celebrating Love and a Yummy Appetizer Recipe

Happy Friday!  It’s the first post for the new series “Feathered {Friends} Friday”!  If you saw this post, then, you know I will be sharing some of my favorite bird photos on Fridays.  They may be in conjunction with a message, recipe, artwork, or whatever is on my heart to share for that day so be sure to stop by to see what these feathered friends have to say!  And, this fun ‘n funky chick says, “Embrace your wild ‘n wacky side!  Let your true colors show! For, you are an amazing creature!”

Yesterday was our anniversary!  Fifteen years of marriage with this sweet guy!  He is my Valentine, for sure!  We had such fun going out to dinner last night at a beautiful restaurant and found ourselves talking about lots of fun memories from our time of living in Germany…that was our first year of marriage.  Wow…it was filled with all sorts of ups and downs, excitement, adventure, and times of separation as John was an Apache pilot at the time.  As I look back now on that first year, I can see that those struggles and happy moments built a beautiful foundation that keeps learning how to be strong through all the journeys a marriage holds.  It’s not always easy…but it is ALWAYS worth it!

Sometimes it feels crazy…kinda like how that fun bird looks above {our Feathered Friend of the day!}!  But, it’s always worth spreading our wings and paying attention to the flight…we are always learning this way.

And, alot of times, I am reminded that LOVE is truly the most important factor.  I know this, and I love seeing how it truly blesses us, teaches us to grow, encourages us to hold on, supports us, and allows us to reach for kindness and compassion in each day. It’s not about always being right…it’s not about “my way” or “his way”…but, more so, it’s about “our way” ~ TOGETHER ~ a beautiful blend of me, of him…of our individuality…and, these two hearts that are oh, so willing to remember that it’s all this love that forms the foundation of the bigger heart we create together.

It’s not always easy…it IS ALWAYS worth it!

Now, whether you want to make a tasty appetizer for your man while he’s enjoying his ballgames, need a fun savory treat for the Bunco get together, or just want to serve up a yummy snack for those you love, try making these amazing wonton appetizers!  My sister started making these a few years ago, and we always request them for our Christmas Eve get together at her house each year.  They are super easy to make and sooo good!  *Don’t forget the sausage at the top…I just used the copy that was given to my sister {and, of course had to add hearts and a dose of PINK!} and realize this very important ingredient could be overlooked.  🙂  Just click on the PINK link below the recipe, and you can easily print off a copy of it.  Hope you enjoy trying these!
