Catching Up ~ Sometimes You Just Have to Do It!

Some weeks it seems the days just fly by!  Last week was one of those weeks.  I just didn’t ever seem to catch up {but, do we really ever??}.  Maybe it was because last Monday was a holiday.  Who knows, but the end of the week arrived and I realized I had neglected this sweet blog.  So, today I’m doing a little catch up post (which I started the other day!) and will include a “Feathered {Friends} Friday” photo for you at the end. Sweet Tucker was even off schedule and missed his post!  But, he’s so adorable in the sun rays that I’ll let him make it up!  🙂 *Tomorrow a new “Feathered {Friends} Friday” post will be up.  🙂

The sunset last Friday was simply amazing!  John was right when he said the sky had a  3D look to it.  It was so beautiful!  PINK and orange filled the sky, and it just kept changing with each passing minute.  I just couldn’t take my eyes off of it!!

My birthday was on Saturday so I teased John and said that God was truly painting a masterpiece to show me as I anticipated my special day.  Don’t you sometimes feel that God is just smiling at us as we notice these beautiful creations?  I do, and I love feeling as though I can see a message in them.

What do I see in this sky?  For me, it is just a sweet reminder that God’s plans are so much better than ours.  Although we stress, fret, worry, plan, and try to situate things, we will often find that we do a lot of struggling when we could have just kept our faith focused on Him…

and, listened

and, waited

Because if we look we will often find that when one door closes, another opens

or perhaps it is a window that gently opens at just the right moment.

I have certainly had this happen in my life.  Maybe I have been so consumed over a situation, even trying to plan it out when something more amazing and so much better comes along or works out.  And, I like the idea of how we are always looking for an open door, but then, it is a window that opens…something completely different than what we had in mind.

God thinks outside the box, you know!  He’s not afraid to get creative…to use all those awesome supplies in His studio!

Speaking of supplies…oh, dear, how I love all sorts of goodies to play with in my studio!

I’ve been busy working through some of my sketches and creating new ones. I have so many sketches that I want to paint…I am pushing myself to work on some of these each day and also to be sure to sketch every day.  I see many artists that have a special look or only create certain things or in a certain technique, and I have to say that right now I just love creating a variety of things. But, you know…I do love my sweet ‘n sassy girls…guess that is something that my pencil always seems to sketch even when I’m not thinking about it!

And, without further adieu allow me to introduce our “Feathered {Friends} Friday” birdie!  This cute little guy came bebopping up to our chairs the other day…not the least bit shy! Bless his heart ~ he is missing a foot and had an area on his neck that was injured.  I am guessing he probably got caught up in fishing line or such at some point.  He just hobbled right along, not missing a beat.  And, I don’t usually feed them since all of their friends show up, and I don’t want to give them anything that might make them sick…but, this lil guy came right up as I was having a snack and ate right out of my hand!! Yes, I was shocked!  What a friendly lil guy he was…well, except for trying to peck my hand!  You do have to be careful about them getting too close to your face because some of them just don’t seem to be very afraid.  Even with all the things he is dealing with, he is quite spunky and full of life!  🙂  And, just look at that cute face!

This is a bit of a catch up post but not to worry…Tucker and I are getting back on track with our blogging schedule!   🙂

Have a great day!!
