I am so excited to share my chance meeting with you about a special artist, Kendall Bradford ~ take a peek at the video below to hear all about it!
And, now, have fun looking at all of Kendall’s beautiful creations!
Whenever I’m in Alexandria, Virginia I just have to stop in Anthropologie to have a look at all of their lovely treasures, and this visit was no different. However, this time I just happened to be in the right place at the right time and met a very talented artist.
I was in awe of this creation and had already been oohing and aahing over the others dotted about throughout the store.
I loved this cute rabbit…look at those eyes!! And, his ears…well, so adorable!
There was a handsome wolf…oh, my, he was gorgeous!
I later learned that part of his body was created with coffee filters.
As I was about to leave the store, I saw a lady snapping a photo of something up high so my eyes followed her gaze. And, I found another amazing owl!! This one had on spectacles!!
I smiled at the lady and said how much I loved these beautiful white creations. She smiled and said, “I made them!” Oh, my goodness…just imagine my excitement when she said this! I was overjoyed to have the opportunity to actually be talking to the designer of these beautiful pieces of art! We chatted a bit, and she told me about how she creates them with newspaper, paper, and even coffee filters for some.
The artist’s name is Kendall Bradford, and she was a JOY to talk with. I just couldn’t resist asking her to stand by the deer so I could take a photo to share with you here on the blog.
She had the sweetest smile and personality. It was truly the “cherry on top” of my fun day strolling about Old Town Alexandria! Kendall has an impressive background in design and art, and I feel honored to have had the chance to meet her in person. Such a treat!
Be sure to stop by Anthropologie if you are in Alexandria, as Kendall’s displays are exquisite and not to be missed! As an artist, I can just imagine the time involved in the creation of each piece. It’s lovely to admire such artwork, but it makes it even more special when I can meet the artist. These photos were taken with my iPhone…oh, how I wished I had taken my big camera with me! {I have to say I just love the ones taken from the outside! They have a mysterious look to me, and I just love how it appears as thought the owls are watching over this sweet town!} Well, at least you get a peek at a bit of artwork that left me feeling more than INSPIRED!!
Hugs and Happy Monday!
