A Yummy Scone Recipe

I’m so excited to share a yummy scone recipe with you.  As you may know, I do have a signature line of scone mixes, but I am not producing them at the moment.  I decided to take them off of my site several months ago since I was staying so busy with my other items.  And, since I design and create all of my signature items…well, sometimes a creative chick just has to realize that she cannot do it all! 🙂  I designed the packaging for my scone mixes and just love how they turned out.  I may add them back in at some point, but for now, I’m going to share a delicious recipe that was shared with me by a sweet friend that loved coming to my tea room.

Of course, my scone mixes have a PINK label!

Grab your apron and that rolling pin…not to worry if you get a little flour here and there…it’s all part of the process!

Now when we made scones each morning at the tea room, my mom made round ones and heart shaped ones.  We had our basic scone, which one of my mixes is named after:  Mama’s Tea Room Scone Mix.  My mom, granny, and I had the best time each morning bustling about in the kitchen of the tea room preparing for the day’s teatimes.  And, each morning, my sweet mama made homemade scones! Goodness, wonder how many she made during the time we were open! Should have kept up with that just for fun!  She liked to use a rolling pin and then, used cookie cutters to cut out shapes.  I have even made them in mini Bundt type pans that are shaped like flowers ~ can we just say CUTE!!

Just click on the link below for the recipe that I am sharing.  It is a pdf file so you will need Adobe Reader (a free download at www.Adobe.com) to open it.  Thought this would be super easy for you so you may print the recipe.  You’ll see that my friend adds in some variation options on the 2nd page…add in fruit, chocolate chips, or whatever your heart desires! Be creative, sweet friends!

Thought you might have fun seeing how I set up my scone mixes, teas, and such when I have my home boutique shows.  I’ve been busy packing in this room since we are getting ready for the movers to come in a few days.  I do not carry all of the inventory I used to stock and just set it up here in this house since we have an awesome room with all these beautiful built in shelves that showed off the items perfectly for my home shows.  Since I now focus on my signature line and am enjoying the designing and creating so much, I just don’t need this inventory in our new home so I am boxing it up for now.  Maybe I will open another “brick and mortar” shoppe one day, but for now, I truly enjoy running my business from my home office and studio.

And, of course, you know you cannot serve scones without a bit of TEA!!!  I encourage you to try hot tea if you haven’t before…I think you may be pleasantly surprised at just how much you enjoy it.  It is truly a ritual, as well.  I have had so many friends of the tea room turn into hot tea drinkers {you know, we southerners like our iced tea so I had to do a good bit of encouraging sometimes with guests so they would sample the hot tea}.  I loved watching them choosing some of their favorite blends to take home with them after they tried it for the first time!  Like my mama and granny always say…”Try it…you might like it!”  🙂

I am surrounded by boxes and am really needing a tea party right about now! haha  The movers will be here in a few days, and we are working hard to get things separated for storage and the big move to Florida.  Whew!! ~ lots of stuff, but we’re making progress!  And, just when I’m feeling oh, so tired and as though I don’t think I can possibly pack one more box…well, I start imagining walking on the beach and wiggling my toes in the sand…and, before you know it, I’m taping up a few more boxes!! Stay tuned…I’ll keep you posted on the move and all that’s going on!  🙂

**Thank you all so much for your sweet and thoughtful comments and messages about our move.  Each one means so much to me.!**

Big HUGS!!
