A dose of POSITIVITY can go a long way ~ a little bit here and a dash there can make such a difference! My mom is such a positive person, and I have always admired her for her ability to look on the bright side. She is most certainly the reason I find myself saying, “Well, I choose to see the silver lining.”. {I CHOOSE} And, yes, sometimes we have to look really hard, and we may not even see that silver lining or bright side until later. The blessing is that it is there…it does exist. We just have to be willing to look for it…sometimes search for it.
I’ll tell you this…I honestly believe, feel, and know that once I start practicing being positive, I find that it comes alot easier. It’s almost as though it becomes my natural way of thinking. And, I love this! I have a long way to go to be at the level that my mom is, but I’m a work in progress! 🙂 Just like my artwork ~ there has to be a starting place. It all begins with a sketch, a little color is added, and finishing details complete the vision ~ alot like this sweet sketch I did recently. I just love Junelle Jacobsen of the “Yes and Amen” blog, her sweet spirit, and faith, and I have so enjoyed her Art of Wild Abandonment classes.
While working on some “homework” for our class, I thought about how much my mom’s positive thoughts are sprinkled so lovingly throughout my life…a dash here and there just when I need it most! So, that’s how this cute sketch came to be!
I know the more I focus on the positive things and push the negative ones to the side I will find it is easier and easier to practice the art of positivity {*You’ll be seeing more of this from me!}. Remember, a simple sketch to start with, positive details added, bright colors to remind you the sun is always shining (it’s just hidden sometimes!), layers are created, and continuing to fill up your palette with positive thoughts is a perfect recipe for a mind that knows how to cast out negativity.
Want to join me? Just think how much sweeter things would be if we all chose to focus on thinking with positivity. Of course, there are all sorts of things in life that cause heartache, upset, disappointment, frustration, and the list goes on, but I have the choice to decide how I am going to view these challenges. We all do…WE HAVE A CHOICE! 🙂 I know…sometimes it’s really hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Remember, I shared with you that I deal with anxiety at times and can be quite the worrywart, but I’m working on all this. And, a pinch and a dash here and there of positivity is helping so much!
I just love this sketch and the meaning behind it so much so it’s now available in my shoppe as a sweet notecard ~ just perfect when you want to send someone a dose of positivity to brighten up their day! And, you know what happens when you share that positivity….it spreads!!! Love that!!
Now, go out and spread some of the good stuff ~ your smiles, sweet words, encouragement, thoughtfulness, and a whole lotta LOVE!
*More London photos coming soon and a dose of sweet {new} artwork*
